Bowling

We took the kids bowling the other day for family night.  We have some competitive little boys and it was so fun to see their faces light up when they did well.  This was Maxwell’s celebration after he new he had a good roll directed straight on the center.  Way to go Max!

Mason got into it too.

Mason was pretty stressed about this shot, but ended up doing well with it!  Good Job Mason!

bowl2

Max is thinking… “please get those 2 lonely pins, I know it’s a long shot, please please please………”

bowl4

Lean, lean, lean Maxwell!!!  I might just get there.

bowl3By the end of the night we were very grateful for some sturdy bumpers for the kids!

The U vs Alabama

Every year we go to a couple of these meets.  We’re proud to say we were involved in a U of U school record in attendance to a gymnastics meet.  We scored tickets and were able to bring a bunch of neighbor friends with us!  After a yummy dinner at the Training Table, we headed up the hill.  The kids had SO much fun.  The meet came down to the wire and the U ended up beating the competitive Alabama team.  What excitement!  Yes we sat on the last row at the Huntsman center but that didn’t seem to matter a bit.

These girls are truly talented and we were amazed by their perfection.

Mason’s and Maxwell’s Birthday Bash

For Mason’s and Maxwell’s friend birthday party we rented out the pool at the Bountiful Rec Center.  The boys would ask every day, “How many more days till we have our swim party?”  The boys invited all of their friends and we had a good turn out.  Mason and Max received the nicest gifts!  Thanks to everybody that came and thanks for the gifts.  There’s nothing quite like a swim party in the middle of winter.  Party started out with heavy heavy hang over, then cake with candles and then swim time!  All of the kids were pretty water logged by the end of the party.  We had SO much fun!

Our friends the Fox’s let Matt borrow their underwater camera for a bit.  As you can see Matt had a ball with it and got plenty of underwater pics of the kids.  What a cool camera.  Thanks guys for letting us borrow it!  (Matt now has that camera on his wish list)…

Mackay’s Blessing Outfit

I never got any good pics of Mackay’s blessing outfit, so I had Matt snap some.  Carol Hymas hand made this outfit and Matt and I were amazed by her serious skills!  Thanks Carol!!!  Soon our chubby baby will out grow it and I wanted to remember all the little details of it.

Happy Birthday Mason – 6

DSC_0618

Mason was born on January 13, 2004.  We just can’t believe we have a 6 year old.  The day before Mason’s birthday, Matt said to Mason “Mason this is the last time you’ll ever be 5”  Mason said, “Yea dad, until I die and come back again then I’ll be five again.”  These kids are so cute!  Mason has been so patient considering it’s birthday season at the Draper’s.  Matt’s birthday is the 30 Dec, Max’s the 31st, and Scooters is the 5th.  He was very patient to wait for his birthday.  We celebrated his birthday just at home, with presents and cake.  Mase got to take 3 of his friends to Kangaroo Zoo to play on the blow ups.  Mason’s real birthday party is Saturday and he gets to share that with Max (it’s so nice to combine them :))

Happy Birthday Mason!  We love you so much!  Every child has a special part of their parents heart, but there something about the first born that is indescribable.  Mason is such a good boy.  He’s a wonderful big brother and will hold and take care of Mackay any time you ask.  Mason is very fun, social and outgoing.  He loves his friends and loves hanging out with them.  Thank you for being our first born and being such a wonderful, important part of our family.

We blessed Mackay and cousin Gabe on the same day.  We did our own private blessing on Saturday.  It was SO much fun and such a wonderful experience.  The spirit was very strong and touched everyone that was there.  Grandma Barbara came in town for the blessing which made it special too.  We’re glad she could make it.  Before the blessing the boys sang I am a Child of God with all of our neighbor friends.  They did awesome, and didn’t even get nervous about it.

Here’s a pic of all the grand parents that were able to make the blessing.DSC_0607

After the blessing we had a soup dinner.  Thank you to all my wonderful friends and family that helped me out.  It was some good food!

NO CLUE!

December 30th was Matt's 30th Birthday!! I decided to throw him a surprise party. It was super hard, but he was so surprised!!
Surprise party's are hard to hide from your spouse. I am the worst liar so I was so afraid I was going to blow it. I sent out the invitations and thought everything was going great until Monday night I get a call that the food at Chili's is done. "What the party isn't until Wednesday?" I was so stressed and had to hide from Matt. Thankfully we got that one figured out. Then Matt was suppose to go snowmobiling all day on his birthday so I could get everything set up. Then a snow storm was coming so they decided to go a day earlier. Luckily Matt's friend Ricky helped me and took Matt to the Nascart racing with some friends. Thanks Ricky!! So everything worked out and it was time for the party.

Matt thought we were going to dinner with some friends and he was going to pick me up at Flip's. When he came in and we yelled "surprise" he looked totally confused. He said it seriously took forever to figure out what was going on. Mase and Max also had no idea what was going on, because I knew they would have told daddy. They were so excited and thought it was the best party ever with all of their friends too.

So it turned out great!! I was scared Matt was going to kill me because he does not like to be in the spotlight. When we got home he told me that was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for him!! YEAH!!

Happy Birthday Maxwell!

A reuniting of brothers.  Maxwell was born on December 31, 2005 at about 2:30 in the morning.  The next day Mason came to meet his brother.  We will never forget this.  Mason was SO excited to have his own brother and we were even more excited to have Maxwell Dale Draper in our lives.

Maxwell was SO excited for his birthday!  He got up on his birthday with a huge smile and said “It’s my birthday!  I’m 4!  I’m big now.”  He was so cute.

A little about Maxwell.  Max was mommy’s hardest to deliver.  He was 8lb 6oz when he was born.  Max is our little athlete.  While Mason is very coordinated Max follows Mason’s every step.  When Mason learned to ride a bike the next day Max learned.  We had Max riding a two wheeler bike and swimming laps by himself all at 3 years old.  He’s very smart as well and can figure things out quickly.  Mason and Maxwell are best friends – they play together so well.  Max love being outdoors and spending time with his dad.  He’s our little snacker – if you can’t find him he’s probably rummaging through the pantry.

We told Max he could choose where he wanted to go to dinner and he chose Chucky Cheese.  Before we headed to dinner we went to see our basketball hero Bella.  She’s so good and the kids really look up to her.  Go Vike’s!

Max invited his aunts, uncles, cousin’s and friends to Chucky Cheese and we all had a great time.  Plenty of pizza, drinks and tokens for everybody.  It’s' new years eve so after we headed to Em’s and Mikes house and then to some friends.
