Antelope Island

Matt took the scouts to Antelope Island of an overnighter.  He was pretty excited about it when he came home and decided it would be fun to take the boys and some friends back out there.  This is the best time to go out there because there are not bugs, and there’s a lot to do and see.  The Great Salt Lake makes for some gorgeous sunsets.  Matt took this picture at his overnighter.

The bison were out enjoying the sunshine.  We also saw antelope and all kinds of birds.

After seeing the animals we went for a walk along the shore of the GSL.

Mackay – 4mo.

This kid will just not slow down! He’s growing up too, too fast and it makes us sad. Mackay is now 4 months old and we can’t imagine our life without him. He is such a happy baby and is always smiling. It doesn’t matter what kind of day you have had, he will brighten you up with eye contact. Mackay is now rolling from back to front and vise-versa. He reaches for toys and plays with them. He also enjoys taking his binky out of his mouth and holding it with his little hand. His new thing is to lay on his back and kick his chubby legs up and down – non stop. Bath time is his favorite and the boys argue over who gets to hold him in the bath – we have to take turns :) Both Mason and Max are such wonderful big brothers and we are so grateful for them.

Mackay, please stop growing up – rrrrr. We just love you so much and are so grateful that our Heavenly Father gave you to us.

Here are the many faces of Mackay at 4 months…

I’m a Pony!

Our little Max’s new trick.  This kid is so entertaining.  So were sitting in the family room and Max is using the bathroom.  He comes out of the bathroom and runs as fast as he can in the family room.  What’s funny is he’s learned to tuck a 6’ piece of toilet paper in his pants and scream, “Neeeaaaahhh (horse sound) I’m a pony, I’m a pony!!”  We laughed so hard our tummy’s hurt.  When you laugh at our Maxie he just pushes harder – he loves attention.  He went outside and ran to Jada’s house.  The mailman gave him a weird look and then just kind of chuckled.  Now Max can’t go the the bathroom with out leaving as a pony.  Needless to say, we’ve doubled our toilet paper usage.  We love you Max – Thanks for making us smile!

St. Regis

This past week we to visit Pappa Scott at his new condo in Deer Valley.  They just finished building the St. Regis a few months ago and we were blown away by it’s beauty.  It is a ski in – ski out, 5 star, white glove lodge.  We had a blast being treated like gold for a day :)  It was kind of snowy so we couldn’t get the kids out on ski’s but they were really excited to watch the skiers and can’t wait to hit the slopes.

The boys couldn’t wait to go swimming.  It’s an outdoor pool complete with heated sidewalks – they didn’t even know they were outside.

Below you can see the Deer Valley main parking lot.  From the lot there is a mini-lodge, where you can board a funicular up to the main lodge where there are 5 star restaurants.   This funicular was made in Europe and is the first of it’s kind in the USA.   We rode up and down about 10 times is all :)  It was like Disneyland!  The food is INCREDIBLE.  We learned that Paris Hilton had ate at our table a couple days before us.  It was fun to learn who had been there to visit.  The people were so nice there.DSC_0137

The outdoor fire pits were a hit too.  Thanks dad for having us up – can’t wait to visit again!DSC_0144

Bowling

We took the kids bowling the other day for family night.  We have some competitive little boys and it was so fun to see their faces light up when they did well.  This was Maxwell’s celebration after he new he had a good roll directed straight on the center.  Way to go Max!

Mason got into it too.

Mason was pretty stressed about this shot, but ended up doing well with it!  Good Job Mason!

bowl2

Max is thinking… “please get those 2 lonely pins, I know it’s a long shot, please please please………”

bowl4

Lean, lean, lean Maxwell!!!  I might just get there.

bowl3By the end of the night we were very grateful for some sturdy bumpers for the kids!

The U vs Alabama

Every year we go to a couple of these meets.  We’re proud to say we were involved in a U of U school record in attendance to a gymnastics meet.  We scored tickets and were able to bring a bunch of neighbor friends with us!  After a yummy dinner at the Training Table, we headed up the hill.  The kids had SO much fun.  The meet came down to the wire and the U ended up beating the competitive Alabama team.  What excitement!  Yes we sat on the last row at the Huntsman center but that didn’t seem to matter a bit.

These girls are truly talented and we were amazed by their perfection.
