1st Day

Year round is not our favorite, but hopefully we'll get used to it. Going back to school the day after the Pioneer Holiday just doesn't seem right... Oh well. Mason is heading to the 3rd grade and Max to the 1st. Mackay will be Mommy's buddy for a couple more years. _DSC0764 _DSC0737

We asked the boys to strike a pose for the photo and this is what they came up with.

We do not know where this kid comes from. :)

Mackay and Kirsten could have fooled you. They thought they were the big kids going to school.

LAVA!!!

It has been a couple of years since we've been to Lava Hot Springs. We decided to head up there for the long 24th holiday weekend. We were not disappointed. Plenty to do. We stayed at a ghetto campground which was awesome. It was someones field - they planted grass and supplied electrical connections. We played baseball for hours! Super cheap and super fun. We bought a pass for the hot pools and the olympic pool. We were in the water ALL day. They also ended up having a parade in the small town.

We floated the river - What a blast! The boys got a real kick out of the rapids while mom was white knuckle ;)

We were joined by Vaughn & Helina, Bennett and Gabey Goo. So much fun to hang out with the cousins.

Matt did some exploring on one of his morning bike rides and found a cool lake with a rope swing. Turns out the lake was full of leaches. Grossed me out - boys thought is was cool.

SMR Bike Racing

Matt has taken up road bike racing. He has been doing some crit racing every Tuesday. I teach dance on Tuesdays but last Tuesday was the 24th and I had the day off, so I was able to watch and cheer. It's pretty intense with tight corners and close calls. He's actually been pretty successful finishing in the top 4 every week.

The best part of the event is the Kids race. They break the kids up in age categories and let them race. Mason, Maxwell and even little Mackay take this pretty serious. Both boys have cleaned house every week. I think they have a future in competitive road racing :)
