The Swing of Things

With school starting it will be nice to get back on a schedule, except I will miss summer badly. I love my kids and it's difficult to see them grow up darn fast.

Mason will be in the 2nd grade this year. He lucked out and got in a class with 3 other neighbor friends.

Our Maxwell will be starting Kindergarten. He is beyond excited to start!

Our Goose (Mackay) will continue to terrorise things around the house. But man, how could you not adore this little blonde.

Cowboy Up...

Maxwell got to compete in the Davis County Fair for Mutton Bustin'. He had his best ride yet! It was in front of a full house at the Legacy Events Center in Farmington. Matt put his GoPro on top of Max's helmet so he could get an insider view of what it's like. The rodeo clown thought that was pretty cool so he announced it to the croud - everybody was looking at Maxwell. You'll notice in the video that Max was gagging, well that's because he got some dirt in his mouth. That's just part of the game. He can't wait for the State rodeo in a couple of weeks. Mason sat this one out as he is still recovering from an injury from last year. Actually he just fell really hard and got the wind knocked out of him, needless to say, it kind of killed the interest for a bit...

This is an event called the "Cash Cow". They tape dollar bills on a calf and let it run around as the kids chase it trying to grab as much dough as they can. The boys LOVED it.

Bear Lake / Bloomington

One last hoo-raw before the school year starts. We headed up to Bear Lake with a bunch of friends for a camping trip. We actually went to Bloomington, Idaho, which is just a couple miles north of the lake. Some friends have a nice country home with a bunch of land so we just parked the trailers on the lawn and made a party out of it. The boys got to ride on a horse around the yard. Mackay cried pretty hard when his turn was over. He LOVED the horse. We took a ranger ride up beautiful Bloomington canyon and went to Bloomington Lake. The water was super cold as the glacier melts into the lake. That didn't stop Matt and I from going on the rope swing. Way fun, but way cold. We spent some time at the Lake where the water was a bit warmer.

Btfl. Peak

We've got some good friends that have gotten the geocaching bug lately so we took the buggies up to the top of Bountiful and headed towards Farmington along Skyline drive. We found a few caches along the way. The boys were stoked! The air was cool and it was beautiful. Curious about geocaching??? Click here...

Ragnar Video

Here's an awesome video by none other than RickyBobby, of our Ragnar race. Great memories with great friends.
