Easter In An Egg Shell

Our Easter Celebrations

We started out at the annual ward Easter egg hunt / breakfast. The kids have been talking about this for a week. It took a bit for Mackay to catch on to the hunt, but once he realized there was candy inside these plastic eggs he was unstoppable.

We then headed over to Murray Park for the annual 'Grandma Judy' Easter egg hunt, and this is where they really cash in ;) We've also made it a tradition to bring cousin Bennett along for the fun.

Mackay has learned his new 'CHEEEEEEESE' smile. It's just that... A little cheesy, but we all laugh so hard when he does it.

We also celebrated cousin Jaylee's first birthday. Aunt Meme gave a very fun party!

Our favorite part... when the 1 year old gets to dig in to her cake.

We also celebrated Pappa Kurt's birthday and got some pictures of his overly excited expressions when he opened a new wrench set.

After the Easter Bunny made a stop at the house, Sunday morning was spent at Grandma Judy's for brunch. _DSC6218

SLC 1/2 MAR.

We ran our first 1/2 marathon and loved it. We are running in the Ogden full marathon in May. This is our first marathon so we decided to run the SL 1/2 marathon as part of our training. Everything went great and we had a real good time. 13 miles didn't seem that bad because we've been training and have been running more than that. It was fun to be in an organized event and coming down to the finish line there was quite the adrenaline rush. We can't wait till May.

Tons of people, I mean tons!

There are plenty of interesting characters that show up for these races. These dudes were as cool as them come. One in silver tight spandex and the other in a skort.

We did it! Our time was 2 hours flat.

Spring Break - Moab Vid!

Matt's video compilation of our recent trip to the desert...

Spring Break - Moab

We took advantage of the kids being out of school for Spring Break and headed down south to Moab. The kids were counting down days until they could head out of town. We lucked out with the weather - it was a little chilly and windy but a lot better than the snow that SLC got. We had a blast! Everyday we headed out for an adventure and covered tons of country. The scenery and vistas were breath taking. The men put the rangers and jeep to the test as they climbed some crazy stuff. The boys and friends took every advantage they could to ride their quad around the field we were camping at. Plenty of smores at the camp fire. Maxwell and Uncle Leon hit it off pretty good as Leon brought about 6 different remote control cars. Max would have drove it till the wheels fell off. Thanks Leon! Matt climbed 'Wipe Out Hill' with the ranger, I have to admit, it was pretty scary to watch... I learned how to ride Matt's motorcycle, and I actually enjoyed it. We're so grateful for a beautiful state we live in and that we get to explore these creations. We're also grateful for great friends to share the experience with! Can't wait to go out again...
