C.A.L.I.F.O.R.N.I.A.

The Monday after Paul and Ashley’s wedding, Matt, Mase and Max loaded up in Grandma and Grandpa’s Hummer and drove to California. We’ve been wanting to visit G’ma Hummer for a while now. It was the first time Matt had actually drove to California, so he was quite nervous. He became even more nervous when Max lost his DS the day before they were to leave. (Max actually hid his DS from Mason and forgot where he hid it – it's somewhere in our house) Anyway, Matt was counting on the DS to do a lot of the entertaining on the journey. The report from Grandma Hummer is that the kids were AWESOME! And that the only complaining was from Matt – ‘are we there yet?’ Grandma and Grandpa’s home is more like a resort. It’s on 2 acres of land in San Bernadino. Grandpa Hummer has made this place BEAUTIFUL!

Grandma’s got about 5 chickens. Everyday Mason and Max was in charge of feeding the chickens and gathering the eggs. Actually, Mase checked about 3 times a day, to see if there were new eggs.

On day 2 – Tuesday – Mommy, Mackay and Grandma Judy flew into Long Beach. We were picked up by Matt and the boys and Grandma hummer. We decided to head to the beach today and we had a special surprise for the boys…

Our neighbors the Beckstrand’s were in Cali on vacation the same time we were so we decided to hook up and hang out. The boys were SO excited to see their little girlfriends on the beach. We stayed there all day. We swam, played in sand, flew kites and ate food. Grandma Hummer hooked us up with cold drinks and goodies!

We met up with the Beckstrand’s again to double the fun. We we found them, little K had just got bandaged up from the Disnleyland Medical staff. She had fallen backward on a rail and cut her head open. Probably needed some stitches, but she tuffed it out.

Little Mackay’s favorite ride was Nemo.

Day 4 was our ‘chill at Grandma’s pool’ day. And we did just that…

Grandma Hummer has a BEAUTIFUL pool. When the boys weren’t partying at DL or the beach they were swimming. 7am in the morning they headed for the pool.

Later that evening we went to the yard and Grandpa set up a pinata for the kids. They couldn’t wait to bust it open.

Max is surely the more aggressive one as he dismantles Spidey’s face. Speaking of face, look at Max’s determined face – LOVE IT! Way to go Maxie!

Sea World – Day 5

We decided at the last minute to head to Sea World for Friday. We’ve been there a number of times so we weren’t quite sure if we wanted to go again or take a year off. But, we decided to go and aren’t sorry one bit. The animals are amazing and they kids never tire of seeing and learning about them. CLICK ON OLDER POSTS TO VIEW SEAWORLD... IT SEEMS THIS IS THE LONGEST POST IN THE WORLD.
