Mason's Hospital Visit

Mason started last week out with occasional stomach ache. They would come and go and the whole time we were thinking he just had a normal tummy ache. Well one night he was up every 1.5 hours for 20 minutes at a time curled over in pain screaming. The next morning we took him up to Primary Childrens. They were first worried about appendicitis or a hurnia. But those checked out ok. He never needed to throw up and there wasn't any diarrhea, so we really couldn't figure out what was wrong with the little guy. The hospital was crazy busy so we were there all day long. We finally got sent home after an enema (ya not fun). Of course as soon as we got home the severe pain started again. This time Matt took him up and they ran more tests. They had to run an IV which Mason was very brave with. The wonderful tech blew through both veins on both hands before she had a RN come in and get it right within 5 seconds. Poor kid was a pin cushion, but can't blame the tech as it wouldn't be a fun job at all. The the new blood work and tests came back clean. The DR. thinks that Mason was experiencing gastrointestinolitus (spelling :/ ) But that was just a guess and we didn't really find out what it was. We were finally released from the hospital around 3am. The pain in Mason's stomach gradually went away over the next couple days. Here are some pics of Mason at the hospital. We are SO glad that he is ok.

Maxwell had some friends on his bed the other day and ended up breaking the rail. So Matt had to build another one. He had Max go with him to the shop and help him repair his own bed. Max loved it. His favorite part was working in the spray booth...

Poor Mase! What a trooper. I had that happen to me a couple times as a kid and we always ended up at the hospital and they never really did ever figure it out. I hope he doesn't have to go through that again! Max looks so cute in that apron. How cool for him to get to help!
