Spring break is here! We decided to head to Cali for a visit to Grandma Barbara. We also decided to drive this time - wow, we've never been in a car for longer than a 5 hour drive, so we were put to the test. Between dvd's, ipad's, ipod's and ds's, it wasn't bad at all, and the kids were very patient. On the way down we stopped at Matt's Aunt Marylynn's to spend the night. She was so kind to us, like always, and it was nice to break up the drive. The hustle and bustle of California is always interesting. So many people!
The first thing the boys did after arriving was check the chickens to see if there were any fresh eggs to gather. The boys got brave and were able to pick up the hen.
Next item of business, fresh squeezed orange juice...
We spent the next day at the happiest place on earth - Disneyland.
Disneyland is always fun, but what makes it funner is when your children understand what is going on and can really enjoy it. Mackay was TOTALLY in to the trip and was loving every second. His favorite ride was the Nemo ride. He would go crazy everytime he saw a character.
Half way through and Mackay needed a breather...
Max enjoyed himself a grilled turkey leg.
Uncle Vaughn, Aunt Helina, Bennett and Gabe came along with us for the vacation. The boys were stoked to have some buddies to hang with.
Mackay's favorite Disney show and character. McQueen = Heaven!
We woke up at 5:30am to head to DL, we left the park at midnight and headed to Grandma's house. Yes it was a long day and though Maxwell swore he wouldn't sleep through it, he lasted till about 11:30 and then crashed.
Matt's favorite ride in the whole world - It's a small world. He always jokes that he needs to bring his shotgun for this ride as the figures would be great target practice...
Day 3 we headed to Newport Beach. We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather...
Plenty of cold water swimming, digging in sand and sea shell hunting. Max found this beauty.
A first for us, we spotted some seals out on the pier!
Bites the dust again.
Plenty to do at Grandma's house. The boys were in the pool every second they could get!
Our favorite puppy in the whole entire world.
Grandma put together an awesome easter egg hunt for the boys while they stayed.
We had the BEST time with our family! Thanks Grandma Barbara and Pappa Alan for taking good care of us like always. We love you.
